A Noste, translated from Le Gascon by «par chez nous», is a landscape reflection of Les Landes. The image of a landscape, of a whole, composed of elements different in form and nature, bringing harmony, balance and dialogue to the whole. The asymmetry of forms, the sculptural character, and the different scales of reading bring a richness and a poetic dimension to the object.
The tray and the pedestal are hand fashioned from French oak cut in 1993, dried in open air. The use of sawdust from the manufacture of the console is put back into the piece by being reused as a finish lined with pigmented resin on the drawer. The work is carved and finished entirely by hand in the artists workshop in Southern France.
